Weekend of WBA title fights

Por 25/04/2014

wladimir Klitschko - Alex Leapai Weigh-inWatching the World Boxing Association welterweight interim champion Keith Thurman is always a pleasure because he is a very frontal boxer, with strategy, technique and style.

On Saturday he will fight with Julio Diaz, in Carson, California. Many people may underestimate Diaz, who comes with a record 40-9, 29 KO´s.

Thurman himself said in the press conference that he is confident this will be a great show, first because it is a stellar fight and second, because he wants to demonstrate is to participate in great battles.

The Interim champion is hungry and has enough talent to be considered by big rivals as he has shown it so far.

On Saturday there will also be other two WBA championship fights, the first will be in Germany where the super heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko will defend his belts against the Australian Alex Leapai.

The Ukranian is not expecting anything new other than demonstrate his superior experience from the beginning of the fight. He is taller, with longer reach and better results; he is the favorite in all bets for KO result. Let’s hope it is a good show.

The other WBA title fight will be in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, where the local Juan Francisco “El Gallo” Estrada will defend his belt against th Thai Richie Mepranum.

This will be the second defense of his 112 lbs title in the hands of the mexican who has a personal mark of 25-2-0, 18 KO´s.

Mepranum could be an interesting opponent for Estrada, for the Asian boxers’ style however, Estrada has enough boxing to get into the ring and solve the fight.

We wish the greatest of luck to all the boxers fighting for WBA titles, and this will be a fabulous Saturday for boxing in general.
