The North American Andre Ward retained his World Boxing Association –WBA-Super Middleweight super championship Belt when he knocked out Chad Dawson in the tenth round on Saturday night at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, USA.
 
Ward’s tough attack was crowned with such a powerful right to the face that sent Dawson to the canvas in the tenth round. The referee Steve Smoger gave a protection count  to Dawson and asked if he could continue fighting, but he did not answer to the call of the referee, forcing him declare the end of the fight at 2:45 minutes of the tenth round.

Ward dominated the fight very clearly. Although Dawson came from a higher division, with more height and strength, at no time had control of the fight. Ward dominated the fight inside, fighting without flinching, with a strong attack that made him rock repeatedly.
 
A quick and accurate combination in the third round first sent Dawson to the canvas. The second knock down came in fourth, but Dawson survived the storm.
 
Ward dominated the fight until the end of the actions came in the thenth round with a third knock down for Dawson to end of the fight. 
Ward ratifies he is the best Super Middleweight at present, with a record of 26-0, with 14 knockout, while Dawson’s record now is 31-2, 17 knockouts.

Ward apabulló a Dawson en Oakland

El estadounidense Andre Ward retuvo su súper campeonato súper mediano de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo (AMB), al noquear en el décimo round a Chad Dawson, este sábado por la noche en el pleito estelar de una cartelera que fue organizada en la Arena Oracle de Oakland, California, Estados Unidos.
 
Un recio ataque de Ward, que fue coronado con una potente derecha al rostro, envió a Dawson a la lona en el décimo round. El referee Steve Smoger le hizo el conteo de protección a Dawson, y le preguntó si seguiría, pero éste no respondió al llamado del juez, lo que obligó a decretar el final de la pelea a los 2:45 minutos de ese décimo round.
 
El dominio de Ward fue claro en esta pelea. A pesar que Dawson venía de una división superior, con más altura y fortaleza, en ningún momento tuvo el control de la pelea. Ward lo dominó peleando adentro, fajándose, sin retroceder, con un fuerte ataque que lo hizo mecerse en varias ocasiones.
 
Una rápida y certera combinación en el tercer round envió por primera vez a la lona a Dawson. La segunda caída se produjo en cuarto, pero Dawson logró sobrevivir el vendaval.
 
En los siguientes rounds, Ward dominó las acciones, hasta que llegó el final del décimo con una tercera caída de Dawson para finalizar las acciones.
 
De esta manera, Ward se ratifica como el mejor supermediano de la actualidad, elevado su record a 26-0, con 14 nocauts, mientras que Dawson quedó con 31-2, 17 nocauts.
