WBA Press. February 01. Susi Kentikian won the World Boxing Association flyweight vacant title when she defeated the Belgium opponent Sanae Jah, in the ISS Dome, Dusseldorf, Germany.
This was a-ten-round closed action fight that allowed both fighters so show their best in the ring. Kentikian sent her opponent to the canvas in round seven, but Jah recovered quickly and was able to end the war.
This was the first time the half point system was used in Europe. The final score was: 99-90,5 / 98-93 / 97,5-92. Steve Weisfeld, Giuseppe Quartarone and Philippe Verbeke were judges of the fight that George Martínez supervised and Mark Nelson refereed.
The new champion improved her record to 30 wins with 2 losses, while Jah’s record is seven win and one defeat.
