Una verdadera lucha británica protagonizarán los púgiles Scott Quigg y Rendall Munroe cuando disputen mañana el cinturón interino del peso súper gallo de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo, en el Velódromo de Manchester, Inglaterra.
El anfitrión Quigg, marcha invicto tras 24 pleitos, con 17 nocauts propinados.
Quigg tiene 23 anos, y se inició en el boxeo profesional en 2007, y es campeón intercontinental cuando venció en 2010 a Santiago Allione, ese mismo año lo defendió ante Daniel Kodjo, y al año siguiente frente al venezolano Franklin Varela.
Quigg siempre ha peleado en territorio británico, su tierra natal.
Por su parte, Munroe es natural de Leicester, y va a visitar a Quigg la noche de este sábado. Su hoja de servicios, a sus 32 años de edad, presenta 24 triunfos, una decena de enviados a la lona y dos derrotas.
Es campeón internacional desde que venció a Andre Isaeu por decisión el 16 de Abril, en la Arena de Manchester.
Andy Morris, en el año 2006 y Toshiaki Nishioka en 2010 fueron los encargados de propinarle sus dos únicas derrotas.
Scott Quigg and Rendall Munroe battle for the WBA Interim Super Bantamweight Title
A real British battle between Scott Quigg and Rendall Munroe will begin tomorrow when they step on the ring to fight for the Interim Super Bantamweight title of the World Boxing Association at the Manchester Velodrome.
The host Quigg, has a record of 24 fight with 17 KO’s. Quigg, who is 23, began boxing in 2007, and became intercontinental champion in 2010 when he defeated Santiago Allione. He defended his title against Daniel Kodjo in 2010, and the following year against Franklin Varela, from Venezuela.
Quigg has always fought in his British homeland.
On the other hand, the 32 year-old visitor, Munroe is from Leicester, and has a record of 24-2, 12 KO’s.
He defeated Andre Isaeu unanimously at the Manchester Arena on April 16 and became International champion. His two defeats were against Andy Morris, 2006 and Toshiaki Nishioka, 2010.
