WBA interim bantamweight champion Hugo “Cuatito” Ruiz (31-1, 28 KOs) retained his title with a ninth round knockout over Jean Sampson (12-2, 7 KOs) on Saturday night at the Estadio de Beisbol Arturo C. Nahl in La Paz, BCS, Mexico. A left hook to the jaw ended Sampson’s night. It was Ruiz’ fourth defense.


In other action, interim WBA female flyweight titleholder Arely Mucino (16-2-1, 9 KOs) stopped Ana Fernandez (14-6, 10 KOs) in round two, and previously unbeaten lightweight Abdiel Ramirez (14-1-1, 13 KOs) was upset by Rene Gonzalez (30-5-1, 23 KOs) who scored a second round TKO.

El campeón Interino de la categoría gallo de la AMB Hugo “Cuatito” Ruiz (31-1, 28 KO’s) retuvo su titulo al derrotar a Jean Sampson (12-2, 7 KO’s) con un KO en la novena vuelta el pasado sábado en el Estadio de Beisbol Arturo C. Nahl en La Paz, BCS, México. Un gancho de izquierda a la mandíbula acabo con la noche de Sampson y significo la cuarta defensa de  Ruiz.

En otro combate de la noche, la campeona interina de la categoría Mosca, Arely Mucino (16-2-1, 9 KO’s) fulminó a Ana Fernández (14-6, 10 KO’s) en el segundo asalto. Por su parte, Abdiel Ramírez (14-1-1, 13 KO’s) perdió su invicto frente a Rene González (30-5-1, 23 KO’s) quien le propinó un TKO en el segundo asalto.
