The interim-flyweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Juan Carlos "Coton" Reveco, won a twelve round unanimous decision over Mexico's Julián "Chicano" Rivera at the Sports City Malargüe in Mendoza, Argentina. All three judges scored it 120-107. Reveco raised his record to 29 wins (16 KOs) and one defeat. While Rivera, the former Latin flyweight champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC), dropped to 13 wins (2 KOs) and 7 setbacks.
