WBA Press. March 10. The American Paul Malignaggi and the Argentinean Diego Chaves parties reached an agreement and the Purse Bid summoned for March 11, at the World Boxing Association office, was called off.
Malignaggi is the 147 lbs champion, while Chaves is the Interim Champion in the same devision, reason why the WBA World Championships Committee had summoned them the reach an agreement or it will open the fight to Purse Bid.
Both sides announced they reached an agreement and informed the WBA, they would not need the Bid.
The WBA respects their agreement to fight other boxers, cancells the bid, and expects to receive the signed contracts as long as it does not violates the other rated boxers and that they honor the original mandatory fight between Malignaggi vs Chaves.
Malignaggi vs Chaves llegaron a un acuerdo y no habrá subasta
Prensa AMB.- 10 de marzo.- El estadounidense Paul Malignaggi y el argentino Diego Chaves llegaron a un acuerdo, y sus equipos de trabajo pactaron por lo que fue descartada la subasta que se realizaría este lunes 11 de marzo en la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo.
Malignaggi es el actual campeón de las 147 libras, mientras que Chaves es el interino de la misma división, motivo por el cual el Comité de Campeonatos de la AMB había llamado a concretar un acuerdo para el enfrentamiento entre ambos o la asistencia a la subasta.
Ambos peleadores anunciaron que pactaron, con sus respectivos managers y así lo comunicaron a la AMB, para realizar una pelea antes del careo mandatorio entre ambos.
La AMB deja claro que respeta dicho acuerdo y se suspende la subasta hasta recibir el acuerdo por escrito, siempre y cuando no viole los derechos de los demás clasificados.
Cada boxeador podrá disputar una refriega con otro rival, siempre que se cumpla luego con el compromiso original entre Malignaggi vs Chaves.
