The World Boxing Association was the only organization present in every activity during the 2012 induction week of the Boxing Hall of Fame, in Canastota, New York. Gilberto Mendoza and Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, president and vice-president attended all the activities.
The WBA president, Mr. Gilberto Mendoza, and its Vice-president Gilberto Jesus Mendoza arrived in New York together with is its working team that covered all the event through its website www.wbanews.com, facebook/WorldBoxingAssociation and twitter @NewsWBA.
After the event finished, President Mendoza reflected on some issues before returning to Venezuela.
"This in one of the best ways to honor our values in boxing. Honor whom honor deserves, said Mr. Mendoza.
"Ed Brophy (Hall of Fame organizer) is doing very well. Over the time we notice organization, boxing brotherhood. The community supports with its attendance and participation.” Added the WBA President.
The WBA working team participated in every activity during the induction weekend, sin the opening, autograph signing, marathon, banquets, parade, photograph, museum visits and closing.
"We expect they continue taking us into account. The WBA will keep on supporting the Hall of Fame as have been doing for the last years. I hope boxers from other latitude be considered as they contribute and enhance the unity and solidarity the world needs so much.” Concluded Mendoza Sr.
The WBA brought Hilario Zapata a special guest to participate in the Hall of Fame. He was three time-world-champion in two different organizations and we would like him to be considered for next year induction.

Durante la semana de inducción al Salón de la Fama del Boxeo Mundial del 2012, en Canastota NY, la Asociación Mundial del Boxeo fue el único organismo, de los cuatro principales regentes del boxeo mundial, presente en todas las activididades que se realizaron.

Finalizado los actos de inducción al Salón de la Fama el presidente de la AMB reflexionó sobre algunos aspectos antes de regresar a Venezuela.
"Esto es una de las mejores maneras de honrar a los valores del boxeo. Honor al que se lo merece", expresó el Dr. Mendoza.
"Ed Brophy (Director del Salón de la Fama) lo está haciendo muy bien. Ha manera que pasa el tiempo se puede notar una buena organización, aquí sale a flote la hermandad del boxeo. El apoyo de la comunidad se refleja en las calles, todo el pueblo participa de alguna forma." Agregó el presidente de la AMB.
El equipo de trabajo de la AMB participó de todas las actividades organizadas esa semana de inducción. Inauguración, firma de autógrafos, maratón, banquetes, desfile, fotografías, visitas al museo y clausura.
"Esperamos que se nos siga tomando en cuenta. La AMB continuará con el apoyo que se le ha venido dando al Salón de la Fama y ojalá se le de mayor importancia a boxeadores de otros países boxísticos que también aportan y enriquecen la unidad y solidaridad que tanto requiere la humanidad", concluyó Mendoza padre.
La AMB tuvo de invitado durante las actividades al panameño Hilario Zapata, tres veces campeón mundialn en dos categorías diferentes, para ser tomado en cuenta en las inducciones del próximo año.
