WBA PRESS. Nov 30. WBA Superwelterweight champion Austin Trout and four time division challenger, Miguel Cotto, the weigh in for the MSG Saturday fight in New York.
The first to step at Affinia´s Hotel was the titleholder, Trout followed by his opponent Cotto.
Jimmy Lenon was the announcer. At a full house of all media and fans, step first at the scale the Puerto Rican star registering 153.6 pounds. Continued the champ who marked exact weigh of 154 pounds.
Both did the face off and posed for TV and photographers.
"I have trained hard like always, have all the trust for my team and preparation. I always train like it would be the greatest bout of my life and that´s how I did it. I don´t Trout ,but I just have something to think of, and that´s is winning" said a confident Cotto to the press.
Trout answer was simple: "I prepared very well, I am confident about it. My nerves are the same always, the same for all bouts, but is something normal, if it would be like this it would be out of this world. I have al respect for Cotto and New York fans, but I will win the fight" remarked boldly.
Every thing is on place for the great main event Saturday night at New York Madison Square Garden. Cotto, with an impressive record stands at 37 bouts, 3 defeats and 30 knocauts, is trying to add a new belt, and Trout, undefeated in 25 bouts, current champion, expects to retain his WBA title and position himself as the top of the division.
Trout y Cotto superan la balanza sin problemas
El campeón superwelter de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo, Austin Trout, y el retador y cuatro veces monarca, Miguel Cotto, cumplieron con el pesaje de la pelea de este sábado en el Madison Square Garden de New York.
El primero en llegar a la sala del Hotel Affinia fue el rey de la división, Trout. Luego entró Cotto.
Jimmy Lennon fue el encargado de hacer la presentación. Con el salón lleno de representantes de los medios y de aficionados al boxeo, subió primero a la balanza el boricua quien marcó 153,6 libras. Después le tocó el turno al campeón, quien hizo 154 libras.
Ambos se encararon, y posaron para las cámaras de televisión y fotográficas.
“He entrenado como siempre, confío mucho en mi equipo y en mi preparación. Siempre entreno para la gran pelea de mi vida, y así lo hice esta vez. No conozco a Trout, pero sólo tengo algo en qué pensar y eso es ganar”, puntualizó Cotto a los medios.
La respuesta de Trout fue sencilla “me preparé muy bien, estoy tranquilo en cuanto a eso. Mis nervios son los de siempre, los que me dan para cada pelea, pero eso sucede normalmente, sería anormal que no fuese así. Respeto a Cotto, y a la afición de Nueva York, pero voy a ganar la pelea”, enfatizó.
Todo está listo para el gran combate estelar de este sábado en la noche en el Madison Square Garden, de Nueva York. Cotto, con37 triunfos, tres derrotas y 30 adormecidos, busca una nueva corona mundial, y Trout, invicto en 25 peleas, actual campeón, aspira retener su faja de la AMB y posicionar su nombre entre los mejores de la división.
