Former champions Galaxy and Griman will also attend
WBA Press. October 27. The Super Feather World Champion, Chris John will be the Star of the 91° Convention annual of the World Boxing Association, starting on Monday in Jakarta, Indonesia.
John has been the World Champion since 2003, and has made 16 title fights, 11 successful title defenses and after his promotion to Super Champion in 2009, has defended his title 5 times. He is undefeated in 47 fights with two draw and 22 KO’s.
At present, he is considered the longest tenant champion in the Featherweights and in any other weight within the WBA.
John, who will attend the opening banquet and the first work session of the convention, is getting ready for his next title defense on November 9, in Singapur, with Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo.
There will be other special guests at the WBA Convention, like the historical Indonesian Khaosai Galaxy and the Venezuelan David Griman.
Galaxy was the WBA Super Flyweight Champion from 1984 to 1991, and defended his belt 19 times, winning 16 of them by KO.
Galaxy is a Hall of Famer and is regarded as one of the greatest boxers in all times, the Ring Magazine locates him in the 19 position in its ranking of 100 best boxers.
Galaxy lost only one fight in 50 he made, and knocked out 43 opponents during his boxing career, ever since he started in December 1980. He also practiced Thai box.
David Grimán also joins the select group of guests. The Venezuelan former champion was the Flyweight King from 1992 to 1994, after defeating his compatriot Aquiles Guzmán and before he lost with Saen Sor Ploechit.
Grimán’s record is 22 wins, five loses and 16 KO’s.

Prensa AMB. 27 de octubre.- El súper campeón pluma, Chris John será la figura principal de la 91° Convención Anual de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo, que se realizará a partir del lunes en la ciudad de Yakarta, en Indonesia.
John es campeón desde el año 2003 y realizó once defensas de su cinturón de campeón. Fue promovido a Súper Campeón en 2009, cuatro defensas más, para sumar 16 peleas de título en total. Su récord está en 47 triunfos, dos empates sin derrotas y 22 nocauts propinados.
En la actualidad, es considerado como el campeón más duradero de su división, y de cualquier otro peso dentro de la AMB.
John, quien asistirá al banquete de apertura y a la primera sesión de trabajo de la Convención, se alista para realizar su próxima defensa el 9 de noviembre en Singapur, ante Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo.
Entre los otros invitados especiales que estarán en Indonesia, durante la Convención Anual, figuran los nombres del no menos histórico, el tailandés Khaosai Galaxy y el venezolano David Grimán.

De sus 50 peleas realizadas, Galaxy perdió solamente una vez y noqueó a 43 contrarios durante toda su carrera que inició en diciembre de 1980, después de haber practicado el boxeo tailandés.
David Grimán también se une al selecto grupo de invitados. El venezolano fue rey del peso mosca de 1992 a 1994, después que venció a su compatriota Aquiles Guzmán y cayera frente a Saen Sor Ploechit.
Grimán acumuló durante su carrera 22 peleas ganadas, con cinco derrotas, y aniquiló a 16 contrarios.
