The World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight champion, Panamanian Celestino "Pelenchín" Caballero met this afternoon with Gilberto Mendoza Jr, WBA VP.   

Caballero interrupted his training in Las Vegas and travelled to Panamá to learn about his future in boxing. To this end he visited the WBA offices in Panama and held a private meeting with Mendoza Jr.

"I must go back to Las Vegas as soon as possible to continue my training", said Pelenchín.

The controversial case regarding his fight with Mike García and promoter Sampson Lewkowicz was also discussed at the meeting. "Pelenchín" gave his version of the story, information that will be included in the dossier and given to the Championships Committee of the WBA to issue a resolution this week.

"Our lawyers are reviewing all the information regarding this case and when they are done, the championships committee will decide on the matter", said Mendoza Jr.

El campeón mundial pluma de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo (AMB), el panameño Celestino "Pelenchín" Caballero se reunió esta tarde con Gilberto Mendoza hijo, vice presidente ejecutivo de la AMB.

Caballero interrumpió sus entrenamientos en Las Vegas y viajó a Panamá para conocer sobre su futuro en el boxeo. Para ésto, estuvo en las oficinas de la AMB en una reunión privada con Mendoza hijo.

"Debo regresar lo más pronto posible a Las Vegas para seguir entrenando, posiblemente sea esta misma semana", dijo Pelenchín.

El polémico caso sobre su pelea con Mike García y el promotor Sampson Lewkowicz también fue tema de la reunión. "Pelenchín" dio su versión sobre los hechos, información que se unirá a las otras versiones del caso para que el comité de campeonatos mundiales de la AMB publique una resolución la semana entrante.

"Nuestros abogados están revisando toda la información, cuando esto termine el comité de campeonatos mundiales se pronunciará al respecto", expreso Mendoza hijo.
