The World Boxing Association family sends its most sincere condolences to the family and relatives of former Puerto Rican World champion Hector "macho" Camacho, who died today, according to the medical report.

The medical report indicates that Camacho suffered "brain death" as a result of a shot that received in the face.

Camacho, who was world champion in three different divisions, was always controversial inside and outside the ring. He was well known by his physical condition and speed, and for his distinctive style of dress and talk.

He fought great fighters such as the Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez, the Panamanian Roberto "Hands of stone" Duran, Felix "Tito" Trinidad, Oscar de la Hoya, Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini, Vinny Pazienza and Sugar Ray Leonard.

Camacho, 50, was born in Bayamon and raised in New York, retired when he lost his last fight by unanimous decision on May 14, 2010 with a record of 79 victories and won 38 by knockout; lost six fights and three draws.

La Familia de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo envía sus más sinceras condolencias a los allegados del ex campeón boricua Héctor “Macho” Camacho, quien falleció el día de hoy, según el parte médico.

El reporte médico indica que Camacho sufrió "muerte cerebral" clínica a raíz del disparo que recibió en el rostro.

Camacho, quien fuera campeón mundial en tres divisiones distintas, siempre fue polémico dentro y fuera del ring. Además de ser reconocido por sus condiciones físicas, su velocidad y sobre todo su característico estilo de vestir y hablar.

Se midió a peleadores como el mexicano Julio César Chávez, el panameño Roberto “Manos de Piedra” Durán, el también boricua Félix “Tito” Trinidad, Oscar de la Hoya, Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini, Vinny Pazienza y Sugar Ray Leonard.

Camacho, de 50 años de edad y nacido en Bayamón pero criado en Nueva York, terminó su carrera con una derrota por decisión el 14 de mayo del 2010, su récord finalizó con 79 victorias de ellas 38 por nocauts, con seis reveses y tres empates.
