With about 800 guest the WBA Awards Dinner took place in the Park Hyatt Philadelphia Hotel on Friday April 13, 2001, it was preceded by a cocktail to introduce everyone to the exciment of the WBA Awards. Mr. Gilberto Mendoza WBA President, Gilberto Jesus Mendoza WBA Executive Director and James Binns WBA Legal Advisor were the hosts of this magnificent event.
This event was honored with the attendance of many important boxing figures like: Don King. Felix Trinidad Sr., Dan Goosen, Murad Muhamad, Bobby Goodman, Evander Holyfield, John Ruiz, Felix "Tito" Trinidad, Michael Spinks, Lance "Mount" Whitaker, all the members of the WBA Executive Comittee and many international boxing figures.
